Monfort Engineering History
The name Monfort Engineering is a big part of our legacy and what we believe in, but it's not the name we started doing business under 18 years ago. The company was originally named after Mr Alfred Cutajar who started Cutajar Engineering approximately 18 years ago.
Cutajar Engineering was established primarily to supply to the material handling industry. From the beginning, the company grew steadily servicing companies like BATA Australia, Brambles and Hystandard Handling Equipment.
In 2002, the company was taken over by Mr Mike Kumar who renamed the company, Monfort Engineering. The name Monfort was adapted from Montfort Boys Town, a special vocational training institute that Mr Kumar learnt his trade from and always feels indebted to. Montfort Boys Town is founded by St. Loius De Montfort, and is run by the brothers of St. Gabriel who teach boys from underprivileged and marginalised backgrounds, different trades, particularly automotive, cabinet making and joinery, electrical and fitting and machining. Mr Kumar still remains closely associated with the Monfort Boys Town to date, supporting them financially with regular donations, incentives for the boys to motivate them to complete their education, attending functions as feasible and being in close association with the brothers.
Today, Monfort engineering has grown to be one of the most respected companies in the Manufacturing, Repair & maintenance industry offering a comprehensive range of products & services, servicing more then 20 customers while maintaining and continually improving its service standards. 100% Australian owned, family business, Monfort Engineering offers commitment to develop and grow business, constantly working on expanding in-house capability to enhance capacity for more advanced products and services and anticipating stronger growth over the years ahead.
